About

Who We Are
The Rural Health Promotion and Poverty Alleviation Initiative (RUHEPAI) is a Registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) operating across Uganda since 2005. With registration number S.5914/5624, RUHEPAI is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable rural communities by addressing the pressing challenges of poverty, disease, climate change, and domestic violence.

At RUHEPAI, we believe that lasting change begins with empowering individuals to take charge of their futures. We work closely with young girls, teen mothers, adolescents, women farmers, village health teams, and local leaders to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to build self-reliance and resilience.

Our Impact
Over the years, RUHEPAI has touched countless lives through its programs, fostering resilience, self-reliance, and hope in rural Uganda. From healthcare campaigns and skills training workshops to climate action initiatives and leadership development, we’ve empowered individuals and strengthened communities across the nation.

Our Approach
We believe in community-driven development, where individuals are active participants in shaping their future. By working hand-in-hand with those we serve, we ensure that our programs are tailored to meet their unique needs and create sustainable, long-term impact.

Our Mission
To empower vulnerable rural communities through training, mentorship, and sustainable development initiatives that promote self-reliance and dignity.

Our Vision
A thriving Uganda where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to lead a fulfilling and self-sustaining life.

What We Do
RUHEPAI focuses on four key areas to address the root causes of vulnerability and unlock the potential of rural communities:

  1. Healthcare Support and Advocacy: Improving access to healthcare services and raising awareness about health and wellness.
  2. Agriculture Advancement and Climate Action: Promoting sustainable farming practices and addressing climate-related challenges.
  3. Gender Equality and Women Leadership: Empowering women and girls to become leaders and advocates for change in their communities.
  4. Skills Transfer and Mentorship: Providing practical skills and guidance to foster economic independence and personal growth.
